Dawna Toews has lived many years in Nova Scotia with a rich family heritage. A mother of three children, she endeavors to fight for social justice for families in all walks of life. Dawna has a degree in Psychology and a certificate in Family Life Studies. “I want to bring the people of Cole Harbour, the pride of ownership within this great province and I plan on bringing strong family social programs designed with the whole family in mind. “
Her work experience with developmentally challenged children and adults for almost 10 years, Dawna understands the mental and financial strain on families who have loved ones who need to be cared for, regardless of their disability.
Dawna and her husband also own a small business in the HRM, knowing the meaning of sacrifice and success. Dawna wants to help other local businesses by working to increase bank lending support as well as to promote additional tax relief for those businesses who help to decrease the environmental dent on our children’s future.
With mandates such as: Stronger future healthcare, Promotion of sustainable, local, job creation, which will bring great economic wealth to this province, and Relevant Education with real life skills in mind and encouraging strong volunteerism for the citizens within their communities, Dawna has the backbone to carry a firm stance in the midst of outdated political dogma.
Dawna believes the Green Party has been the silenced leader in the background. She hopes that more media attention will help people get a sense for her Party’s strengths. “We are all now hearing about the environmental mandates discussed by the other three parties. Who do you think started it all”?
