Candidate Name: Damon Loomer

Damon would like to help bring about a major shift in the way the
suburban areas of HRM are organized and developed. The desperate need
for public transportation in Waverley-Fall River-Beaverbank is at the
top of his list.

Damon started out professionally as a newspaper reporter and editor,
working for various publications in Nova Scotia. He has also been a
language teacher in public and private schools. For the past ten
years, he has been self-employed as a translator and editor
specializing in international cooperation and sustainable development.
He is president of the Association of Translators and Interpreters of
Nova Scotia (ATINS). He has a B.Ed. from Dalhousie University and a
Journalism degree from University of King’s College, Halifax.

Damon lives in Waverley with his wife and three sons.
